Keyboard
While the original DROID had issues with the flat keyboard that featured two blank keys on either side plus the d-pad, the DROID 2 keyboard is one of its kind in that it is domed, has advanced keyboards (the HTC Touch Pro2), and in place of the d-pad there are the directional keys.

Software
This device runs on 2.2. Froyo with the standard Motorola skin seen on the DROID X. Rest assured that this phone was the first one in the market to run the Android 2.2. Hence when you buy it you shouldn’t expect any updates whatsoever for your phone. Apart from additional features that Froyo has introduced to the table, all else is the same as the DROID X in terms of software. There are additional third-party applications in this phone such as the Kindle, Blockbuster, QuickOffice, and NFS Shift.
Considering the abovementioned features and applications, it is politically correct to say that the DROID 2 is the true successor of the original DROID but more advanced seeing as it is the keyboard is more user-friendly and the phone responds very fast thanks to the 1GHz processor. Truphone today launched a beta of its mobile internet telephony service, Truphone Anywhere, for BlackBerry smartphones. When an international number is dialled, the Truphone software detects what is happening and takes over automatically. Truphone Anywhere will then make a domestic call to local Truphone server and sends to the server the international number being called. The Truphone server then makes an internet call to that number and connects that long-distance internet call with the domestic call the customer pays only for the call to the local Truphone server.

LG revealed some phones that will be at CTIA Wireless 2010 tomorrow.The LG LN240 is actually called LG Remarq. The phone is an eco-friendly one and will be sold starting May 9 for free with a 2-yr contract agreement. LG GD900 Crystal,probably one of the most interesting phone from this year, will be released in the UK via The Carphone Warehouse.Available for free on contracts – details of which have not been revealed – as well as for sale on a pay as you go basis, the LG GD900 Crystal is unique in offering a completely see-through tempered glass keypad.

Verizon officially revealed the Casio EXILIM clamshell mobile phone. The EXILIM features a 2.3-inch swivel LCD display, a 0.7-inch mono display, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with 3x optical zoom and image stabilizer. The phone is

E Ink announced that Casio Hitachi Mobile Communications in Japan has selected E Ink Vizplex Imaging Film based displays for its newest family of mobile phones. CH-Mobile is planning on several product releases. These are the world’s first clamshell style mobile phones to use E Ink’s electronic paper technology on the outside.
The current model is the Hitachi W61H and it features a 2.7″ screen that scrolls through several animated images when you receive a call, message or when the phone is opened. The Casio G’zOne model will launch soon, though as with the Hitachi, it will only be available in Japan.

Virgin Mobile USA announced today its title sponsorship of the upcoming Britney Spears concert tour. The tour, to be titled “Virgin Mobile Presents the Circus Starring Britney Spears,” features special guests The PussyCat Dolls. The circus-themed tour is due to kick off in New Orleans on March 3, 2009 with a planned 31 dates in the United States. Not many details are out yet, but from what we know of the phone, you get a 2.6-inch QVGA display, optical sensor for touchpad navigation, dual slider design, 2GB internal memory, microSD slot, 2-megapixel camera with video and geotagging, full HTML tabbed browsing, threaded text messages, ad full access to all Helio services like Buddy Beacon and HelioUP.

Altec Lansing recently introduced its BackBeat 903/6 Bluetooth headset at the currently ongoing Macworld Expo and will also display them at the CES show later this week.Either headset includes Bluetooth 2.1+EDR support, while the 3.5mm auxiliary jack allows connecting devices that do not have Bluetooth functionality. A2DP, AVRCP, HSP v1.1 and HFPv1.5 stereo audio profiles are also supported. Battery life is rated at 7 hours of talk or music listening time, while the Bluetooth range from the paired device is 33 feet.

Sling launched the beta app SlingPlayer Mobile. The app lets BlackBerries with 3G or Wi-Fi stream the video from a Slingbox at home and lets the user remote control any source that supports input from the streaming hub. The feature is meant to help commuters catch TV shows they might miss but also lets users access on-demand content from devices like the Apple TV or TiVos. The SlingPlayer app officially requires phones as simple as the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and Pearl Flip 8220 and scales up to very modern BlackBerries like the Bold and the Curve 8900; all of them need at least BlackBerry OS 4.5.
