The painful wait for the Nokia N8 hopefuls is finally over as Nokia has officially confirmed that the Symbian^3 laden flagship smartphone will be available in the UK, October 1st onwards. Those who prefer the Nokia on-line shopping option could order the N8 is the last week of September.

Nokia will be hoping that the Nokia N8 does well in the international smartphone market where it is struggled woefully in the recent past. Google had no cellphone OS making history what so ever, but see where Android stands today in a very short span of time.

Android OS and iOS4 are doing way better than the platforms Nokia has experimented with in the past. Nokia will be hoping the N8 puts up a decent fight and then Nokia can evolve from there. Even Samsung is a name better than Nokia in the smartphone arena and just a single creation (Galaxy S) changed things for them.

If N8 could pump up the Nokia smartphone sales, Nokia could resurrect from there. The upcoming smartphone will bear a price tag of £429 SIM free or free with monthly £35 per contractual plan.
