Tethering is a feature which is more reliant on the operating systems this far, but T-Mobile is the first big time US carrier which is looking to revert this trend. Come November 3rd and T-Mobile will become the first carrier to offer tethering as an add-on feature with your regular monthly data plans. T-Mobile intends to levy an extra charge of $14..99 for converting your device into a mobile hotspot, but there are certain pre-requisites.
For starters you will need to be hooked with a data plan of $19.95 per month or higher. You will also require a 3G or HSPA+ device to take advantage of tethering, which should of course be activated with a T-Mobile activated data plan. If you forgot, November 3 is the same day when the newest myTouch also becomes available, so you can make the day special by purchasing the HTC Smartphone and hook up with tethering as well.
