
Wireless provider Sprint started shipping its first slider phone that supports its Nextel Direct Connect push to talk service, the Motorola Debut i856. This phone provides users with the option to switch from active push to talk call to an interconnect voice call with a button specially meant for this purpose. The handset comes with a built-in MP3 player with external music controls and a 3D Audio equalizer. Audiophiles will love this feature.
The phone also offers Bluetooth with wireless headphones with a 3.5mm audio jack, a 1.3 megapixel camera with4x digital zoom and video capture. A GPS Sensor allows the captured images to be traced. The phone also offers a 2.2 inch color display of 172×220 resolution. Data or information can be stored in the external microSD cards; with up to 8GB storage capacity. Sprint’s TeleNav Navigation service and web browsing are supported by this Debut phone. This phone is priced at $100 with a two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate.
