AT&T is proud of its Apple alliance and it still rakes in a lot money courtesy of that alliance, but AT&T does understand that there is a need to think beyond Apple and hence Android is its best bet. The problem though its that AT&T hasn’t moved ahead a great deal with the Google OS and this has been the undoing of the big time US Carrier.
Gladly, AT&T is thinking of moving ahead with Android by introducing a high end smartphone dubbed the Motorola Olympus. Olympus will be a 4-inch tablet style smartphone that will be blessed with the Tegra II computing prowess.
The spec sheet will easily be good enough to put all the other AT&T Android devices to shame and given what is known this far, the claim does sound genuine enough. And just for the records, Motorola Olympus will not be a tablet but a tablet type smartphone. It is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2011
