The T-Mobile G2 is one of the 1st smart phones which supports HSPA+ network and has QWERTY keyboard with attractive design. The phone runs with Android 2.2 operating system and has excellent call quality and amazing performance. The T-mobile G2 costs 199.99 dollars and comes along with 2 years contract with electronic retailers including radio shack and best buy. The previous version G1 was not very stylish and compact and G2 which has got lot of enhancements in design part. It measures 4.68×2.37×0.55 inches and weighs approximately 6.5 ounces, a bit heavier than other smart phones. The soft touch finish and stainless steel parts make the phone very attractive and gives a solid feel when held in your hands, but has excellent quality.
The capacitive TFT touch screen display measures 3.7 inches diagonally with super AMOLED screen and is very bright and gorgeous. The videos and images look excellent and text is very easy to read. The bright and gorgeous display has pinch-to-zoom support, in-built accelerometer, proximity sensor and has very responsive touch screen. The phone has Swype and Android virtual keyboard for accessing and apart from that there is a 4-row QWERTY keyboard also. The buttons are well-raised and of comfortable size with sufficient spacing between them for easier typing. Those who are not good at keyboard can use the Swype feature to access the menus. The sliding mechanism of the phone is very smooth and screen gets locked securely. But some early users have found that it will stay in place always. The standard Android shortcuts like Search, back, menu and home button are present below the display apart from optical track pad. The micro-USB port for charging and volume rocket is present on left spine and on right spine is camera activation button. The power button and 3.5 mm headset jack are present on phone’s top while the rear side has a camera with attached flash. The phone comes along with 8GB microSD card, USB cable, manual, AC adapter and wired headset.
There are lot of interesting features in this which includes the HSPA+ support from T-Mobile. The phone’s user interface is great and it operated with latest version of Android operating system. It has GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth support. The phone has good multimedia features including music player and video codecs along with syncing software. The picture quality of the phone is better but could have been sharper. The 5-megapixel camera has HD video capturing feature and though it lacks LED flash, it is good for taking outdoor videos under daylight. The phone lacks facility of mobile hot spot but other than that all other features are great and it is one of the best Android smart phones that you can purchase.
